Cardiovascular Specialist Pharmacist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Pharmacist to join our Cardiovascular Pharmacy Team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, evidence-based clinical pharmacy services to patients with cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Cardiovascular Care Group
- Act as a specialist role model and an expert in the medical management within the Cardiovascular Care Group
- Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in the Cardiovascular Care Group in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist
- Develop and participate in outpatient clinics to deliver and promote high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical care
- Act as a pharmacist independent prescriber to optimise the care of patients within the Cardiovascular Care Group
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, delivering and promoting high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care
- Promote safe drug use within the Cardiovascular Care Group specialties
- Work with the Associate Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services to develop, manage, and support non-medical prescribing within pharmacy and the Trust
- Provide specialist pharmacist input into the Trust Non-Medical Prescribing Group (NMPG) including the management of Patient Group Directions and Written Instructions
- Develop, implement, and audit local guidelines
- Supervise and train pharmacy staff at ward level
- Provide education and training of healthcare professionals within and outside the Trust
- Financial reporting, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting, drug budget management, and work on CIPs (cost improvement programmes)
- Participate in practice and clinical research and audit
