Mental Health Support Worker

This is a permanent position starting as soon as possible.

This role is for a Residential school, supporting specialist students who have Social/ Emotional/ Mental Health needs from the ages of 5- 11 years.

This is a straight to permanent position. Please see below hours.

These students may have come from distressed or toxic backgrounds.

The right candidate will need to be confident with de-escalation strategies, tough and know how to handle challenging behaviours.

You must also be empathetic and have a good understanding or background in special educational needs or Social emotional, mental health.

Resilience and hard work are a must.

An outdoors/sports/activity co-ordinator background would also be great, as this role entails a lot of outdoors activities.

Someone from a hospitality background may also work well.

Duties:

Providing quality care for children in a residential setting

Assisting in developing and implementing care plans for each child, ensuring their physical, therapeutic, emotional, and social needs are met

Carrying out daily activities such as meals, recreational activities, and educational programs

Ensuring the health and well-being of children, such as administering medication as needed

Maintaining accurate records of each child's progress, behaviour, and any incidents that occur

Working with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the child's care to ensure a comprehensive approach to their well-being

Hours:

Monday 14:00- 20:30

Tuesday & Wednesday 07:00 - 09:30, returning at 14:30 - 20:30

Thursday 07:00 - 10:00, returning at 12:00 - 20:30

Friday 07:00 - 15:00

We are open to applicants from alternative backgrounds who have transferable skills.

You must have a full UK license and access to your own vehicle.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
