Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join a Residential Primary School in Chigwell, rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

About the Role:

This is a permanent position starting ASAP, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality care for children in a residential setting, ensuring their physical, therapeutic, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Assist in developing and implementing care plans for each child, working closely with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Carry out daily activities such as meals, recreational activities, and educational programs, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Ensure the health and well-being of children, including administering medication as needed, and maintaining accurate records of each child's progress, behaviour, and any incidents that occur.
Requirements:
  • A social care background or experience supporting SEND students.
  • Confidence in de-escalation strategies and handling challenging behaviours.
  • Empathy and a good understanding of special educational needs or social emotional, mental health.
  • Resilience and hard work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours:

Monday: 14:00-20:30

Tuesday & Wednesday: 07:00-09:30, returning at 14:30-20:30

Thursday: 07:00-10:00, returning at 12:00-20:30

Friday: 07:00-15:00
