Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker for Children

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Officer to join a residential SEMH School in Chigwell. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children with special needs.

About the Role:

This is a temporary position, with the potential for permanence. You will work closely with our team to provide quality care for children in a residential setting, assisting in developing and implementing care plans to meet their physical, therapeutic, emotional, and social needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality care for children in a residential setting
  • Assist in developing and implementing care plans for each child
  • Carry out daily activities such as meals, recreational activities, and educational programs
  • Ensure the health and wellbeing of children, including administering medication as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of each child's progress, behaviour, and any incidents that occur
  • Work with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the child's care
Requirements:

We are open to applicants from alternative backgrounds who have transferable skills. A social care background or experience supporting SEND is desirable. You must be empathetic, resilient, and able to handle challenging behaviours. An outdoors/sports/activity co-ordinator background or hospitality experience would be an asset.

Working Hours:

The working hours for this role are Monday 14:00-20:30, Tuesday & Wednesday 07:00-09:30 and 14:30-20:30, Thursday 07:00-10:00 and 12:00-20:30, and Friday 07:00-15:00.
