About the Role

We are recruiting for a highly skilled Palliative Medicine Consultant Specialist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust.

This is a substantive consultant post offering an opportunity to support our palliative care teams and contribute to the transition of services in preparation for the anticipated hospital redevelopment.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing resources, leading specialist palliative care in different settings, and teaching a variety of styles and to various audiences.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for taking charge of service without direct supervision, working in a multidisciplinary team, and with colleagues at different locations.

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, broad-based knowledge and experience in specialised palliative care in different settings, and good knowledge of, and the ability to use, spoken and written English.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support our palliative care teams and contribute to the transition of services in preparation for the anticipated hospital redevelopment.
  2. Develop new and exciting partnerships with local hospice palliative care service providers in view of the hospital redevelopment plans.
  3. Take responsibility of service without direct supervision.
  4. Work in a multidisciplinary team and with colleagues at different locations.

Requirements

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
  • MRCP/ FRCP or evidence of equivalent qualification and/or experience.
  • CESR.
  • Able to take responsibility of service without direct supervision.
