**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantum Research Professional to join our team at Scholarshipdb. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development of quantum technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines. A strong background in experimental quantum technologies, photonics, free space optics, and packaging photonic chips is essential.

As a member of our team, you will design, build, and test QKD systems for various applications, including satellite-based and fibre-based systems. You will also work on large-scale quantum networks, photonic chips for QKD, and novel QKD protocols.

**Responsibilities**

  • Conduct experiments in collaboration with other researchers within the university and external collaborators.
  • Develop ideas for generating industrial impact from research projects and present proposals to senior researchers and collaborators.
  • Closely work with satellite-based QKD systems, building the payload and ground-based receiving station.

**What We Offer**

A competitive salary range of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. The contract type is open-ended with fixed term funding up to 31/10/2026. Work pattern is full-time. Grade: I or J. School/Unit: Faculty of Engineering.
