Job Description:

We are looking for a highly qualified Theory of Quantum Computation Specialist to join our team at the City of Bristol College. This position involves conducting research in quantum computing theory, specifically in areas such as quantum algorithms, verification/testing of quantum devices, and architectures for quantum computers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantum computing theory and experience in designing and implementing methods for verification/testing of near-term quantum devices and techniques for simulation of quantum-mechanical systems using a quantum computer.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of quantum computing technology and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in quantum computing theory, focusing on quantum algorithms and their underpinning mathematics.
  • Design and implement novel methods for verification/testing of near-term quantum devices.
  • Develop techniques for simulation of quantum-mechanical systems using a quantum computer.

Requirements:

  • PhD in the theory of quantum computation or quantum information.
  • Strong record of publications in high-quality international conferences and journals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take a primary role in organizing and running research projects.
