At Lawes Consulting Group, we are seeking a skilled Renewals Underwriter to join our team. As a Renewals Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting existing commercial policies for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite commercial products according to underwriting guides
  • Meet monthly targets for profitability, conversion rates, and productivity
  • Collaborate with broader teams and regions to enhance sales proficiency and grasp of sales and underwriting strategy
  • Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, including designated brokerage contacts
  • Question non-standard underwriting decisions, utilizing knowledge of product specialists and underwriting managers
  • Identify process enhancements and suggest alternative approaches to enhance customer experience and foster profitable growth

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a commercial lines underwriter, with proficiency in Professional Indemnity; familiarity with Management Liability and Cyber is advantageous
  • Logical and analytical thinker
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting and articulating ideas effectively
  • Innate ability to build relationships, fostering close rapport with brokers
  • Ambitious and self-driven, able to motivate oneself and achieve results
  • Ideal candidate possesses a degree and working towards Diploma CII, or exempt through relevant experience as stipulated by the FCA
