Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Renewals Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our commercial lines underwriting team, you will be responsible for underwriting existing commercial policies and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite commercial policies according to underwriting guides and company policies.
  • Meet monthly targets for profitability, conversion rates, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and regions to enhance sales proficiency and grasp of sales and underwriting strategy.
  • Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, including designated brokerage contacts.
  • Review and question non-standard underwriting decisions, utilizing the knowledge of product specialists and underwriting managers.
  • Identify process enhancements and suggest alternative approaches to enhance customer experience and foster profitable growth.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a commercial lines underwriter, with proficiency in Professional Indemnity; familiarity with Management Liability and Cyber is advantageous.
  • A logical and analytical thinker with excellent communication skills.
  • Innate ability to build relationships and foster close rapport with brokers.
  • Ambitious and self-driven, able to motivate oneself and achieve results.
  • Ideal candidate will possess a degree and working towards Diploma CII, or exempt through relevant experience as stipulated by the FCA.
