Patient Pathway Coordinator

NHS Scotland is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in various clinical and non-clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million through regional and national services.
The post holder will work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and clerical staff to ensure the timely movement of cancer and potential cancer patients through their journey from referral onwards. This involves facilitating the collection, analysis, and presentation of cancer waiting times data.
Main responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the efficient movement of patients through their healthcare journey
- Facilitating the collection and analysis of cancer waiting times data
- Working closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and clerical staff
Key requirements include:
- HNC / SVQIII in Business Administration / Information Management / Information Technology or equivalent experience
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proficient in the use of software systems, particularly Microsoft Office
- Advanced keyboard skills
Desirable skills and experience include:
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment
- Knowledge of computer systems used in NHS Scotland
- Medical terminology
- Knowledge of cancer and cancer referral pathways
