Senior Care Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Care Manager to lead our new development project for an Ofsted Regulated provision of Semi-independent Supported Living for Children and Young People (aged 16+) in Ashford, Surrey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the effective implementation of the Children Act 1989 (Children & Young People's Welfare), Care Standards Act 2000 (Staffing), Children Act 2004 (Safeguarding), and Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023.
- Obtain the best outcomes for each child and/or young person within the project, including being on-call and available to staff, management team, and external statutory agencies.
- Promote cooperation with young people, their families, other staff within the home, and other agencies, in order to meet the needs of the young people.
- Prepare for, and attend annual reviews and CIC meetings, and ensure actions are completed.
- Monitor arrangements for holidays, recreational outings, and social activities with young people to ensure the implementation of related risk assessments.
- Ensure that there are regular stimulating meaningful activities for young people to engage in which reflect their personal interests and preferences and that these are further developed into new opportunities and experiences.
- Ensure that the home environment is well maintained and presented, that it remains clean hygienic state, and is homely, warm, and personalised to the tastes and interests of young people.
- Ensure all young people have an up-to-date support and placement plan that details the young person's care and support needs, including positive behaviour support plan.
- Promote young people's inclusion and participation in the local community and ensure they have full access to community resources.
- Embed a culture of high aspirations and ambition for young people in which they experience positive outcomes.
- Ensure that all aspects of a young person's support have been fully risk assessed.
- Liaise closely with all young people's education settings to support agreed targets and learning outcomes.
- Ensure that staff understand their responsibilities and implement Lansdowne homes Safeguarding procedures.
- Promote the health and safety of employees at work and people supported.
- Ensure that all staff are provided with an appropriate induction, supervision, and appraisal.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development for all.
- Identify staff training and development needs.
- Ensure performance reviews are undertaken in a timely manner.
- Maintain stewardship of the project underpinning our philosophy and service delivery practice framework.
- Co-ordinate visitations with professionals and external access to children's and young people's services.
- Provide leadership and coaching in practice to ensure best outcomes for children and young people.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are implemented appropriately.
- Supervise and support staff ensuring professional development appropriate to meet the specific needs of children and young people.
- Manage the project effectively and efficiently in a warm and caring environment.
Requirements:
- A minimum Level 5 or degree qualification in Health and Social Care, Children's Residential Care, Youth Work, and/or Education.
- Minimum 3 years' proven experience of working with/supporting children, young people, their families, including those affected by trauma, and at risk of exploitation.
- Leading on Ofsted regulation, compliance, inspections, preparation, documentation and response to findings.
- A good understanding of the development needs of children and young people.
- Development of Care Plans, Pathway Plans, Education and Health Care Plans.
- Understanding of trauma informed care.
- Implementation of effective Safeguarding practices.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
- Knowledge of key social care services related to C&YP.
