Job Summary

The Financial Aid Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial aid records and files, in accordance with federal and state guidelines. This includes reviewing and evaluating financial aid eligibility, as well as providing information and services to students and parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process financial aid applications and documents
  • Assist students and parents with financial aid eligibility and award packaging
  • Communicate with the Financial Aid Office and software vendors to resolve document imaging issues
  • Provide information to students and parents regarding financial aid programs and application processes
  • Work with supervisors and staff to communicate applicable federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures
Requirements
  • 4 years of financial aid counseling experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to learn and use an automated financial aid system
  • Ability to make independent decisions and sound judgment
  • Knowledge of federal financial aid and state regulations and requirements
