Senior Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Practice Educator for Acute Medical Units in University Hospitals Dorset. The post holder will be a nurse with advanced clinical skills and an expert knowledge base, responsible for the educational development of our Acute Medical Units.
Main Duties- Support the provision of professional leadership for nurses and Health Care Assistants working in the directorate.
- Work alongside staff during their shift to sign off competencies and aid training and development for all nurses.
- Identify the learning and development needs of Nursing and Healthcare staff working in Acute Medicine.
- Develop a learning framework and competencies to be used in supporting and signing off Core Clinical competencies and specific skills identified by Acute Medicine.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures within their sphere of responsibility.

Person Specification- NMC registered Nurse
- Learning and assessing in clinical practice
- Leadership Qualification or experience
- PGCE in Education Practice (desirable)
- Previous educational link nurse or experience of organising training (desirable)
- Computer literacy with a wide range of software's
- Advanced clinical skills as appropriate
- Advanced communication skills using a range of methods (verbal, written, report writing)
