About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare. As a key member of our community mental health team, you will work closely with individuals, families, and carers to provide high-quality occupational therapy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to individuals with mental health needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to promote independence, well-being, and recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with mental health conditions.
- Provide education and support to individuals, families, and carers on mental health issues and coping strategies.
Requirements
- Registered Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration.
- Postgraduate experience in mental health occupational therapy.
- Ability to work with individuals with complex mental health needs, including those with challenging behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of mental health legislation, policies, and guidelines.
