About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health difficulties, promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and develop treatment plans for individuals with mental health needs, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions, including skills training, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and adaptive equipment prescription.
  • Conduct home visits and community assessments to identify and address environmental and social barriers to recovery.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social services, and community organizations to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines.

Requirements

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate experience in mental health occupational therapy or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
