Job Summary

We seek an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our payroll team, you will play a crucial role in processing end-to-end payrolls with precision and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality client files and managing junior members of the team. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement planning processes to meet client needs and statutory deadlines.
  • Review team files to guarantee adherence to quality standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Provide constructive feedback on work quality and identify areas for development among junior team members.
  • Manage the entire payroll process, including RTI filing, pension uploads, and generating reports for payments and third-party entities.
  • Maintain meticulous records and document control systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit trail.
  • Stay up-to-date with company policies and tax legislation impacting payroll, ensuring adherence and compliance.
  • Prepare month-end journals and reports as needed for posting and audit purposes, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
  • Train and oversee junior members of the payroll team.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. A minimum of Education/Academy Payroll experience is required.
  2. Prior experience in client-facing payroll, preferably within a practice environment, is highly desirable.
Additional Requirements
  1. Familiarity with HMRC legislation and Pension Auto Enrolment, along with the ability to work effectively with multiple clients and prioritize workload.
  2. Strong computer literacy and numerical skills, with experience using payroll software – knowledge of BrightPay would be beneficial, although training will be provided.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide:
