Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Orion Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical competence of Electrical Maintenance delivery personnel, interviewing and testing competency, and formally appointing REPs and SAEP.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure technical competence of Electrical Maintenance delivery personnel
  • Ensure discipline-specific engineering work remains within budget
  • Deliver technically correct and timely engineering work
  • Provide optimized preventative maintenance programs for Electrical equipment
  • Engage in operational improvement processes to optimize discipline-specific engineering support
  • Provide discipline input to 28 and 90-day asset planning processes
  • Provide discipline guidance and engineering endorsement for proposed changes to PMRs
  • Represent the company as a technical representative for asset support contracts
  • Ensure vendors are mobilized on time to meet asset planning schedules
  • Provide engineering advice and endorsement for engineering changes, maintenance deferrals, and ORA's
  • Responsible for equipment performance, including spare part management and warranty follow-up
  • Ensure performance standards are accurate and adhered to via the Inspection, Test, and Maintenance program
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree
  • HNC/HND with extensive Electrical Engineering experience
  • Professional accredited Engineer
  • Extensive knowledge of Engineering technical practices and legislation

We are looking for a candidate with considerable relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in an engineering and production operations environment. Good working knowledge and application of relevant UK oil and gas industry regulations, particularly Electrical Regulations, are essential. Site support experience and SAP experience are also required. Awareness of Performance Standards and Safety Critical Standards is desirable. Familiarity with quality processes and continuous improvement tools is also desirable. EX Compex Units E01-E04, HV Systems Operations, and 18th Edition wiring regulation are also required.
