Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Wallacewhittle is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to support our Senior/Associate Engineers in producing robust design solutions, including drawing and written deliverables, with moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce high-quality Electrical Design drawings, calculations, reports, specifications, and schedules.
  • Contribute to BREEAM or equivalent legislation compliance.
  • Work on Building Regulations Section 6 compliance modelling.
  • Witness test and commissioning procedures of final installations.
  • Assist in the development of trainee engineers.
  • Work effectively with internal and external project teams.
  • Comply with company Quality Assurance management systems.
  • Support Senior/Associate Engineers and Management.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree preferred. Minimum Engineering HNC/D or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a Building Services consultancy required.
Desirable Skills:
  • Competent in AutoCad and knowledge of Revit.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external design team members.
  • Ability to undertake non-intrusive surveys of existing installations.
  • Capacity to undertake main plant area spatial allowance exercises.
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge with new legislation, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to attend and contribute to design team and project meetings.
  • Collaborative skills to work effectively with all others affecting or affected by your work.
  • Personal management duties including weekly timesheets.
  • Compliance with security procedures and commercial in-confidence restrictions.
  • Study towards Chartership and maintain CPD requirements.
  • Quality checking/review of trainee staff work and equivalent grade engineers.
