Job Title: Chief Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for providing electrical engineering expertise and services to support our North Sea engineering and modifications business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide electrical engineering expertise and input to development of studies
  • Define electrical requirements for technical scopes related to various modifications
  • Originating and checking of electrical engineering & design deliverables
  • Support HAZOPs/HAZID's and other technical reviews as required
  • Provide technical expertise to the project delivery team
  • Resolve electrical related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
  • Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of electrical designs
  • Support interdisciplinary considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter-discipline checking
  • Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirements of senior electrical Engineer
  • Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aid in continuous improvement
  • Utilise software tools in design development and checking as required
  • Prepare electrical input to estimates for modifications
  • Liaise with function personnel to achieve cost and schedule targets
  • Review and report progress to meet deadlines
Qualifications:
  • MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience or HNC / HND or equivalent with relevant considerable experience
