Job Summary:

Young Roots is seeking a highly skilled and creative Communications and Engagement Officer to join our dynamic Fundraising and Development team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in amplifying the voices of young refugees, building awareness of our work and impact, and engaging new and diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote Young Roots' work and values.
  • Collaborate with our delivery teams and young people to co-create engaging content and campaigns.
  • Design and implement digital marketing campaigns to grow our supporter base and unrestricted income.
  • Write compelling content for fundraising appeals, policy and campaigns work, and engagement opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including supporters, donors, and partners.
  • Work closely with our Fundraising and Development team to achieve our fundraising goals.
  • Occasionally attend youth activities and fundraising events outside of regular working hours.

Requirements:

  • Strong digital marketing and written skills, with experience in creating engaging content and campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, with a focus on youth participation and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Passion for creating positive change for refugees and young people.
  • Strong administrative and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
