Job Summary

This Senior/Principal Ornithologist position involves leading ecological services for a leading environmental consultancy firm in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will possess strong ornithological knowledge and experience in surveying and report production. Key responsibilities include leading ornithological surveys, producing reports for Habitat Regulations Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments, and traveling frequently to project sites across Scotland.

The salary range for this position is £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a competitive package, 33 days of annual leave, TOIL, and a performance-based bonus scheme.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • BSc or MSc in Ornithology or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in ornithological surveying and report production.
  • Strong understanding of Habitat Regulations Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments.
