Job Summary

The Operations Lead is a key role within the production area, responsible for the day-to-day running of their assigned area. This includes maintaining team performance, line management, and ensuring a safe working environment. The role holder will be accountable for taking daily actions to build team engagement, managing key issues, and achieving the operational plan.

The Operations Lead will work closely with the Operations Management team to ensure compliance with part 145 or 21G rules and deploy the Safety management system in the team. They will also be responsible for managing tooling budget and calibration control, including recall lists and out-of-tolerance items. Additionally, they will tackle issues blocking daily outputs and lead efforts to resolve conflicts and problems within the team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment, a qualification or experience within a manufacturing discipline, and previous line management experience or team coordination. They will be resilient, have good attention to detail, and be able to work accurately and efficiently to meet internal targets. The candidate will also have good planning and organizational skills, a flexible attitude, and effective communication skills with a good interpersonal style.

The Operations Lead will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing system data to support decision-making, including line of balance. They will also maintain team boards, including visual metrics, action plans, and other relevant information. The role holder will deploy a team working ethos and manage individuals in alignment with site cultural expectations. They will also proactively communicate key business news to the team, helping them understand how they are contributing to the overall business goals.

The Operations Lead will work closely with the Operations Managers to ensure compliance with part 145 or 21G rules and deploy the Safety management system in the team. Additionally, they will tackle issues blocking daily outputs and lead efforts to resolve conflicts and problems within the team.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude towards quality of work, demonstrate understanding of part 145 or 21G requirements, and be action-oriented with a high level of energy for improvements and change. They will also be able to deal with conflict and have a good understanding of CI and 5S principles and their application.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Qualification or experience within a manufacturing discipline
• Previous line management experience or team coordination
• Resilient with good attention to detail and able to work accurately and efficiently to meet internal targets
• Good planning and organizational skills with a flexible attitude
• Good influencing skills
• Effective communication skills with a good interpersonal style
• Ability to review and interpret module data to make appropriate decisions
• Drive and influence to ensure work is completed effectively and efficiently
