AIG is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our Regions Property team, where you will develop risk transfer solutions for mid to large corporate property clients broked in the UK Regions. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a growth area of the business and influence the development of AIG's property portfolio in the Midlands and South-West.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic development of our middle market portfolio; build visibility with brokers and clients; drive the client service process.
  • Maintain and develop strong broker and client relationships.
  • Work cross functionally with other areas in AIG to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Work within agreed decision-making standards, limitations, authorities, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced Underwriters.
  • Achieve satisfactory ratings on all underwriting quality reviews.
  • Ensure all corporate service standards are maintained to both brokers & internal colleagues.
  • Support the culture of continuous improvement in all areas including improving processes to make the business more efficient and creating an environment where people are encouraged to take initiative and responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Extensive property underwriting experience in the mid to large corporate client segment
  • Understanding of underwriting multinational programmes (desirable)
  • Experience assessing and purchasing facultative reinsurance (desirable)
  • A strong network of regional broker contacts
  • Willingness to build direct relationships with large clients
  • Ability to understand policy wordings
  • Experience working in a multi-stakeholder, collaborative environment including working closely with underwriters in other lines of business
  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment with responsibility for the development of AIG's Regional property portfolio in the Midlands and South-West
