AIG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Regions Property team in the Midlands and South-West. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing risk transfer solutions for mid to large corporate property clients broked in the UK Regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic development of our middle market portfolio, building visibility with brokers and clients, and driving the client service process.
  • Maintaining and developing strong broker and client relationships.
  • Working cross-functionally with other areas in AIG to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Working within agreed decision-making standards, limitations, authorities, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Coaching and mentoring less experienced Underwriters.
  • Achieving satisfactory ratings on all underwriting quality reviews.
  • Ensuring all corporate service standards are maintained to both brokers and internal colleagues.
  • Supporting the culture of continuous improvement in all areas, including improving processes to make the business more efficient and creating an environment where people are encouraged to take initiative and responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Extensive property underwriting experience in the mid to large corporate client segment.
  • Understanding of underwriting multinational programmes (desirable).
  • Experience assessing and purchasing facultative reinsurance (desirable).
  • A strong network of regional broker contacts.
  • Willingness to build direct relationships with large clients.
  • Ability to understand policy wordings.
  • Experience working in a multi-stakeholder, collaborative environment, including working closely with underwriters in other lines of business.
  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment with responsibility for the development of AIG's Regional property portfolio in the Midlands and South-West.
