As a seasoned PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND REPUTATION MANAGER, you will play a vital role in shaping Scottish Canals' reputation and achieving its vision for the nation's canal network. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with various stakeholders to develop and implement complex stakeholder engagement campaigns across our Capital Works Programmes (2024-2025 and 2025-2026) to secure support for Scottish Canals among diverse audiences.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality communications linked to our Capital Works Programme 24/25 and 25/26, as well as supporting internal communications in relation to our Capital Works Programmes and organisational priorities. Effective crisis management and media engagement will also be key aspects of your role.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement campaigns to secure support for Scottish Canals among diverse audiences.
  • Support internal communications in relation to our Capital Works Programmes and organisational priorities.
  • Deliver effective crisis management and media engagement to ensure a positive outcome for Scottish Canals.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent communications experience (essential)
  • Proven track record at a senior level within private/public sector (preferred)

We offer a salary of £30,069 per year (Band C) pro-rata, along with a comprehensive benefits package including annual leave, public holidays, enhanced sick pay, discounted shopping vouchers, health cash plan, and a contributory pension scheme.
