Policy and Regulatory Affairs Expert:

We are seeking an experienced Policy and Regulatory Affairs Expert to join our team at ScottishPower. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the strategic direction of SPEN, ensuring that internal stakeholders are aware of changes to the external policy landscape impacting our business goals.

As a Policy and Regulatory Affairs Expert, you will lead on the interpretation of complex policy issues, delivering in-depth analysis on potential financial or operational impacts on SPEN, along with mitigation proposals. Proactively representing SPEN's interests on relevant policy issues, you will use written and verbal communication and influencing skills to respond to consultation requests, draft CEO briefings, and engage with government representatives and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of SPEN, ensuring awareness of changes to the external policy landscape
  • Lead on interpreting complex policy issues, providing in-depth analysis and mitigation proposals
  • Represent SPEN's interests on relevant policy issues, using written and verbal communication and influencing skills

Requirements:

  • Experience in a policy or regulatory role, with the ability to outline complex issues in a straightforward manner
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade effectively
