Therapeutic Education Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Teacher to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment. As a Therapeutic Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create tailored educational programs that address the individual needs of our students, fostering their personal and academic growth.
- Deliver Engaging and Therapeutic Lessons: Design and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students, promoting emotional well-being and academic success.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with therapists, support staff, and parents to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Create a Safe and Supportive Classroom Environment: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes emotional well-being and academic success.
- Provide One-on-One Support and Intervention: Offer additional support and intervention to students requiring extra assistance, ensuring they receive the help they need to succeed.
- Participate in Professional Development Opportunities: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEN education, ensuring you remain at the forefront of your field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Equivalent: Hold a recognized teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience Working with Secondary-Aged Students with SEN: Possess experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a secondary setting.
- Strong Understanding of Therapeutic Teaching Methods and Strategies: Demonstrate a deep understanding of therapeutic teaching methods and strategies, with the ability to apply them effectively in the classroom.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to Work Effectively as Part of a Team: Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
