SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils inside and outside the classroom
- Helping pupils increase their confidence and self-esteem
- Agreeing and writing action plans to deal with problems
- Supporting children with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Building positive relationships with students and staff
- Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A creative approach to teaching and providing academic, emotional, and pastoral support to pupils
- Outstanding behaviour and classroom management skills and developing positive relationships with staff and pupils
- Commitment, dedication, and resilience, understanding the reasons behind challenging behaviour and de-escalating situations proactively
- Effectiveness as a teaching assistant with experience in supporting teaching, learning, SEND pupils, and children with complex behaviours
