Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Recovery Champion to join our team at The Forward Trust. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with addiction and substance misuse. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading peer support programmes across various London prisons, including HMP Brixton and HMP Wormwood Scrubs. You will work closely with healthcare services to deliver holistic health and wellbeing interventions, focusing on recovery-orientated and trauma-informed approaches. Your expertise will enable the development and delivery of Health and Wellbeing Champions (HAWCs) within the prisons, promoting engagement and delivery of recovery pathways and peer support.

About the Role

  • Lead peer support programmes across multiple prison sites
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare services to deliver holistic health and wellbeing interventions
  • Develop and deliver Health and Wellbeing Champions (HAWCs) within the prisons
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions to address service user needs

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the criminal justice sector and issues facing substance misusers
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, and deliver training on a peer support programme
  • Previous experience providing a peer support service to a similar client group
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent
