About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Smart Metering Business Manager to join our team at UK Power Networks (Operations) Ltd. As a key member of our Technology, Strategy Regulation and Support Services department, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our Smart Metering program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Smart Metering business solutions to deliver benefits to customers and the business.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including Directorates at EMT, SMT, and SME levels, to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Represent UK Power Networks at senior industry level forums hosted by Ofgem, BEIS, ENA, DCC, and SEC, including responding to industry consultations related to smart metering.
  • Ensure compliance with Smart Energy Code (SEC) obligations and manage technical risks affecting operations under the SEC.
  • Develop and provide Smart Meter performance and business benefits reports to stakeholders.
  • Lead the transformation within Business teams across the different directorates to utilize smart meter data and capabilities to deliver value for customers and UK Power Networks.
  • Manage the Smart Meter Team with responsibility for the ongoing efficient operations of the smart meter system and interfaces, including regular enhancements and upgrades to ensure UK Power Networks remains compliant with industry SEC security standards and audits.

Requirements:

  • Relevant management experience in a similar role.
  • Financial understanding and experience with the regulatory regime.
  • Knowledge of electrical networks and power systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
