About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager to join our team at Hays Senior Finance. As a key member of our finance operations team, you will be responsible for preparing management accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, as well as supporting the junior team with queries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dealing with clients and providing exceptional customer service
  • Management Accounting, including preparing and reviewing financial statements
  • Management Reporting, including providing insights and recommendations to clients
  • VAT Returns, including ensuring accurate and timely submissions
  • Team support and Development, including mentoring and training junior team members
  • Systems and Processes Improvement, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Hold the ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA qualification or have equivalent experience
  • Have a solid background in finance operations work, with prior experience in a similar position
  • Be proficient in IT, including Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, and other accounting software
  • Have high-level Excel skills and experience with drafting management accounts
  • Be an excellent communicator, with the ability to deal with a wide range of clients
  • Have a strong grasp of ICT and relevant software systems, with a willingness to utilize them to their full potential
  • Be able to work to deadlines and handle multiple priorities, with a positive attitude to problem-solving and working in a team
  • Have a vigilant approach to dealing with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Practice experience within a digital team, providing clients with software recommendations
  • Previous experience of assessing and enhancing finance systems and processes
  • Knowledge of complex VAT matters and ability to provide initial VAT advice to clients
  • Previous experience in carrying out training of others
