We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Skincare Business Development Manager to join our team at Skin + Me in London.

About the Role

This is a hybrid working role with three days a week in our Paddington HQ (Monday, Tuesday, Friday) and two days remote. You will also get to make ad-hoc site visits to our retailer partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial sales growth within our trading retail accounts.
  • Owning day-to-day retailer relationships, establishing and maintaining amazing relationships at all levels within the Retailer + Department Store teams, including Buying/Trading, Merchandising, and Marketing.
  • Manage commercial negotiations on space and location, in-store visibility, and digital support with retailer Buying and Merchandising teams.
Delivering Strategic Planning and Forecasting
  • Build net sales forecasts, meeting financial deadlines and budget submissions, flagging risks and opportunities in a timely manner to the Commercial Retail Director.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting for NPD and core lines, and proactive inventory and assortment management, in close collaboration with Trade Marketing planning counterparts, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and PR to create and deliver an annual plan for each retailer covering activation of key launches and marketing moments, eventing, store/retailer animation, considering both customer acquisition and retention.
  • Retail trends and maximise opportunities across channels to ensure we succeed in our mission to deliver a #1 ranking skincare brand across the estate.
Management of the Retail P&L, Internal Reporting, and Cross-Functional Delivery
  • Manage each account P&L, balancing investment with top-line opportunity, monitoring retailer profit contribution to achieve agreed profit margins.
  • Responsibility for reviewing product assortment and sales to maximise counter productivity in partnership with trade marketing.
  • Align trading plans with local teams to ensure a consistent and phased plan across all retailers within each region, avoiding unnecessary conflicts of activity.
  • Provide weekly by-account business recaps and monthly reports that detail sell-thru by SKU, rankings, productivity, stock & sales, and competitive analysis.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Strong experience working with major UK beauty and skincare retailers.
  • A passion for skincare and beauty with a deep understanding of the UK skincare market and trade marketing tactics.
  • Commercially-minded and driven by hitting targets.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Confident communicator with strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Analytical understanding of how to interpret data to measure success.
