This role will provide advice, guidance and support to the Prevention Programme Manager and health equity team ensuring that projects / programmes of work for improving population health, supporting prevention, and reducing health inequalities are delivered effectively. This includes the provision of a public health informed approach to project and programme delivery resulting in the implementation of an overall regional Health Equity approach.
The Health Equity Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of key activities and tasks as agreed with the Prevention Programme Manager and system colleagues. They will work collaboratively with colleagues across the directorate and regionally to support the delivery of system and regional objectives. Leading a multidisciplinary matrix team that will support the delivery of health equity projects and workstreams, focused on achieving national regional and local priorities that are aligned to the core aspect of the national Core20Plus 5 initiative, strategic priorities, the regional Long Term Plan (LTP) prevention agenda and PHM strategies.

This role will require the ability to analyse very complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to and focused on quality, promoting high standards in all they do. They will work well with others, being positive and helpful, listening, involving, respecting and learning from the contribution of others. They will have excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft office (word, PowerPoint, excel) and ability to maintain confidentiality and trust.
