Job Summary

The NHS England is seeking a highly skilled Health Equity Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the regional Public Health directorate and Health Equity team, you will play a crucial role in improving regional healthy life expectancy and reducing health inequalities.

Main Duties

The post holder will provide expert advice, guidance, and support to the Prevention Programme Manager and health equity team to ensure that projects and programmes of work for improving population health, supporting prevention, and reducing health inequalities are delivered effectively.

You will be responsible for the delivery of key activities and tasks as agreed with the Prevention Programme Manager and system colleagues. This will include the provision of a public health-informed approach to project and programme delivery, resulting in the implementation of an overall regional Health Equity approach.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the directorate and regionally to support the delivery of system and regional objectives. You will lead a multidisciplinary matrix team that will support the delivery of health equity projects and workstreams, focused on achieving national, regional, and local priorities that are aligned to the core aspects of the national Core20Plus 5 initiative, strategic priorities, the regional Long Term Plan (LTP) prevention agenda, and PHM strategies.
