Empowering Adults with Disabilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled Adult Mental Health Specialist to join our team at The Growth Company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for empowering adults with physical or mental health disabilities to find and sustain employment, using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Clients Support: Work closely with clients to assess their support needs and develop personalized plans to overcome barriers to employment.
  • Employer Engagement: Build relationships with local employers to negotiate job opportunities that meet everyone's strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Growth Company's IPS team to deliver high-quality services to clients and employers.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in continuous learning about disability and mental health conditions, their impact, and how they can be managed.
  • Policies Implementation: Ensure that all relevant policies are implemented, such as information governance, safeguarding, etc.

About You:

  • Experience: Experience talking to employers and helping people into work.
  • Communication Skills: Great communication skills and the ability to build relationships with everyone from frontline staff to CEO level.
  • Negotiation Skills: Negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • Drive and Passion: Drive, passion, and commitment.
  • Rapport Building: Proven ability to build rapport with people, especially those affected by substance misuse or similar conditions.
  • Strong Skills: Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.

Skill Requirements:

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills.
  • Target-Driven Environment: Ability to work in a target-driven environment, focusing on the successful achievement of job outcomes and sustained outcomes.
  • Guidance Skills: High-level guidance skills, delivering one-to-one and group sessions to at least Grade 2 standard.
  • Lone Working: Previous experience working on outreach and lone working.
  • Guidance Experience: Experience in guidance, advice, and counseling environments.
  • Disability Understanding: An understanding of working with disabled people, or a similar client group within health, social services, or the voluntary sector, is desirable.

Salary: The starting salary will be up to £29,000 per annum, which will be raised to £29,000 after a 6-month successful probation period.
