Academic Training Programme Director

The NHS England is seeking an experienced NHS Consultant to fill the role of Training Programme Director for Emergency Medicine in North Central and East London. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of training across the region and strong leadership and communication skills.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Postgraduate Dean, Head of School, and other key departments to ensure that national standards and guidelines are met. They will oversee the Specialty's Regional Training Programme, address specialty-specific matters, and manage postgraduate programmes.
The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team and have a strong commitment to patient-centred care and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the Specialty's Regional Training Programme
- Addressing specialty-specific matters and trainee/trainer concerns
- Recruitment to training posts and programmes
- Postgraduate programme management, including assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation, OOP management, trainee management careers support, less than full-time training, inter-deanery transfer, academic training and other related work-streams.
Requirements:
- Experience as an NHS Consultant
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team
- Commitment to patient-centred care and professional development
