Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced registered nurse to join the Bury District Nursing Service as a Tissue Viability Nurse in Bury Community Services, part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about wound care and quality improvement.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide specialist advice, support, and education to patients and staff in the community setting, demonstrating expertise in tissue viability and a proven interest in pressure ulcer prevention, management, and wound care.

The role involves supporting the training of staff, patients, and carers in relation to tissue viability, including pressure ulcer prevention and management, surgical wounds, and leg ulcers.

About the Role

The Tissue Viability Nurse will work closely with the District Nursing Team to maintain standards of clinical care, providing expert clinical advice, support, and education based on local and national guidelines and best practice recommendations.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to enhancing the health of the local population by delivering high-quality care and working closely with local authorities and key partners.

Requirements
  • Relevant post-registration experience in tissue viability or a related field
  • Sound knowledge of leg ulcer and tissue viability aetiologies, management approaches, and dressings
  • Current NMC registration
  • Substantial years' experience at Band 5 within an acute or community setting
  • Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint
