About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Neonatal Clinical Specialist to join our team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced clinical expertise in neonatology, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. As a Senior Neonatal Clinical Specialist, you will have a significant impact on the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, protocols, and standards within the neonatal unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced clinical expertise in neonatology, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex neonatal conditions
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines, protocols, and standards within the neonatal unit, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of educational programs for healthcare professionals, focusing on neonatal care and related topics
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes that enhance patient care and safety
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, using data analysis and evaluation to inform decision-making and drive positive change
Requirements
  • Degree in Nursing or a related field
  • Registration with the NMC as a qualified nurse
  • Postgraduate qualification in neonatal speciality or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a neonatal unit, with a strong background in clinical leadership and education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service
