Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

**About the School:**
CER Education Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our team on a 1-year contract basis from September. This contract is 5 days a week term time only.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing personalised support and assistance to our students with special educational needs where you will be supporting children on a 1-1 or 2-1 basis. The students' needs range from ASD, MLD, PMLD, and Emotional Behaviour.

**Key Responsibilities:)
  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities.
  • Support students with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, as needed.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Assist in the implementation of behavioural interventions and strategies to support positive behaviour management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support student development and progress.
  • Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development as required.
