About the Role

At Brandon James, we're seeking a talented Building Control Specialist to join our Construction Health and Safety Team in the UK. This key position has been created to respond to recent changes in the construction industry, particularly the Building Safety Act, and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a thriving consultancy during a period of growth.

You'll collaborate with clients and internal teams to provide expert advice, oversee plan checks and design reviews, and ensure that all designs are fully compliant with building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations.
  • Conduct thorough plan checks and review designs for compliance with Building Regulations.
  • Carry out site inspections at critical stages of the design process.
  • Produce comprehensive end-of-design stage reports and maintain accurate Building Regulations trackers.
  • Contribute to bid submissions and fee proposals, driving business growth.

Requirements

  • Degree in a construction-related field or significant relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations, codes, and associated legislation.
  • Experience working across multiple projects, with a strong understanding of the design and construction process.
  • A commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Proficiency in software such as SharePoint and other project management tools.
  • Willingness to travel for project meetings and site inspections.
