Job Title: Teaching Assistant in Pupil Referral Unit

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Liverpool and the surrounding areas. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who face significant challenges and helping them achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students in a PRU setting, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Help students develop positive behaviors and coping strategies for managing their emotions.
  • Assist in the implementation of personalized learning plans that focus on both academic and personal development.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued and understood.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide holistic support for students.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback and adjusting support strategies as needed.
  • Assist with classroom management, resource preparation, and other tasks as directed by the teacher.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a PRU or with students who have behavioral, emotional, or social difficulties is preferred.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior with patience and resilience.
  • A supportive, non-judgmental approach to working with vulnerable students.
  • Commitment to helping students overcome barriers to their education and personal development.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or support work (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) are advantageous.
