Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team at the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust. The successful candidate will work within the Mother and Baby Unit, providing social work services to mothers and their babies.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering social work services, ensuring the needs of individual mothers and their babies are met. They will provide social care advice to staff and take a lead role in safeguarding for the MBU.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within perinatal mental health and/or children and family social services. They will be committed to the development and clinical leadership of the MBU.
Main Duties of the Job
To work with the Mother & Baby Unit (MBU) multi-disciplinary team providing social worker practice and support across the Unit. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of social work services ensuring the needs of individual mothers and their babies are met.
You will work closely with other agencies and individuals to support mothers with a clear focus on recovery, social inclusion and social justice. The role will entail assessment, support planning and the opportunity to provide 1-1 strength-based therapeutic interventions.

The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas. As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.
