Job Summary

The Kent & Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust is seeking a highly experienced Mental Health Nurse to join the Perinatal Mental Health Community Service (PMHCS) team in Maidstone. As a specialist nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centered care to women and their infants experiencing perinatal mental illness.

Main Responsibilities
  • To work collaboratively with the existing PMHCS team to deliver a specialist service to mothers and infants in the Kent & Medway area.
  • To maintain a clinical caseload within agreed limits, providing a range of specialist clinical interventions to clients with perinatal mental illness.
  • To provide specialist liaison advice and support on the development of nursing practice within the PMHCS to professionals in primary and secondary care.
  • To participate in the delivery of specialist perinatal mental health training and supervision to other professionals in primary and secondary care when needed.
  • To develop links with local mental health services to improve the interface between primary and secondary care for this client group.

Requirements
  • RMN qualification
  • Member of a professional body
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience of working within mental health services
  • Knowledge of the Care Programme Approach
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Clear interest in perinatal mental illness
