About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Thoracic Oncology Dietitian to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated AHP thoracic oncology team in the outpatient service, delivering high-quality care to patients with thoracic cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nutritional support to patients with thoracic cancer, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' nutritional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to optimize their nutritional status.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery, including oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals on thoracic cancer and nutrition.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives, ensuring that our services are patient-centered and evidence-based.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate training in dietetics or a related field.
  • Current State Registration as a dietitian.
  • Substantial clinical experience in oncology, with a focus on thoracic cancer.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop evidence-based solutions.
