Senior Specialist Thoracic Oncology Dietitian

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Thoracic Oncology Dietitian to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated AHP thoracic oncology team in the outpatient service, delivering high-quality care to patients with thoracic cancer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nutritional support to patients with thoracic cancer, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' nutritional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to optimize their nutritional status.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery, including oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons.
- Develop and implement service improvement projects to enhance the quality and efficiency of care delivery.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the highest standards of care.
Requirements
- Substantial clinical experience in oncology, with a strong focus on thoracic cancer.
- Postgraduate training in behavior change and motivational interviewing.
- Current State Registration as a Dietitian.
- Sound clinical knowledge and expertise in nutritional support and palliative care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
