We are partnering with a primary school in Hertfordshire to find a dedicated and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term vacancy.
Job OverviewThis SEN Teaching Assistant role is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and experienced professional to make a positive impact on the lives of pupils with diverse learning needs. As a key member of the school team, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support that fosters an inclusive classroom environment and helps each child reach their full potential.
- Support pupils with SEN in their learning and development both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist in planning and implementing personalized learning plans to cater to the unique needs of each pupil.
- Create a supportive and engaging environment that encourages pupil participation and enthusiasm for learning.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing valuable feedback to the class teacher to inform future support strategies.
- Establish effective communication with parents and guardians regarding pupil progress and support initiatives.
- Pursue ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting pupils with SEN.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the school's policies and procedures, particularly those related to safeguarding and health and safety.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by pupils with SEN and effective strategies to support them.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils.
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this SEN Teaching Assistant role is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
