Machine Learning Scientist in Public Health

We are seeking a Research Fellow in Statistical Image Analysis to join our team at The International Society for Bayesian Analysis. As a member of our research team, you will play a key role in developing statistical and machine learning methods for the analysis and interpretation of digitised peripheral blood smear images. Our research project is funded by the Alan Turing Institute and the British Heart Foundation, providing a unique opportunity to collaborate with leading experts in the field.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing statistical models and machine learning algorithms for image analysis
- Collaborating with researchers to design and conduct experiments
- Analysing and interpreting large datasets to identify trends and patterns
- Presenting findings at scientific conferences and publishing in top-tier journals
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering or machine learning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with programming languages such as R or Python
