Job Description: Machine Learning Scientist

Illumina, Inc. is a pioneering company in genomics technology, dedicated to advancing human health through genetic innovation. We are recruiting a talented Machine Learning Scientist to join our team and drive cutting-edge research in deep learning applications for genomics.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning algorithms to analyze large-scale genomic data. Your work will have a direct impact on improving human health outcomes by identifying genetic variants associated with diseases. Collaborating closely with our research team, you will contribute to publishing research papers and presenting at industry conferences to disseminate your findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models for genomic data analysis.
  • Collaborate with researchers to design experiments and collect data for machine learning projects.
  • Design and implement new methodologies for predicting genetic variants using deep learning techniques.

Requirements:
  • PhD or Master's degree in Machine Learning, Genomics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
Location: Cambridge, UK (Hub and Hybrid options available).
