About the Role

Fife Council's Mental Health Officer Service is seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our East Team. As a Mental Health Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are at risk of harm and require protection under statutory measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Balance the need for compulsory treatment or intervention while promoting the rights and needs of individuals with mental illness or capacity issues.
  • Use legal powers under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, and Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to provide a comprehensive service.
  • Contribute to the learning and development of the team and service.
  • Have extensive experience of Social Work Assessment and Care Management, ideally from a range of backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Accredited Mental Health Officer with a Post Graduate qualifying award.
  • Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and maintain CPD requirements.
  • Ability to travel throughout Fife and occasionally outwith.
  • PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
