Job Summary
Flooding is a major concern for communities and businesses alike. As a Technical Director Flood Risk, you will play a crucial role in helping us understand and mitigate the effects of flooding on our projects. We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in flood risk consulting and hydraulic modelling to join our team.

This is a new role at Align Property Services, giving you the opportunity to shape and lead our dedicated team of hydraulic modelers & engineers. You will have the freedom to establish best practices, drive innovation, and contribute to the success of our projects related to water systems and infrastructure.

We are an award-winning building design consultancy with a collaborative approach to work. Our team offers a broad range of services in architecture, sustainability, building surveying, project management, civil & structural engineering, and more. With a dynamic and diverse approach to projects, we value small gardens to multi-million-pound listed structures across the UK.

Your extensive experience in the sector and background in flood risk consulting will enable you to validate and provide guidance on 1D/2D hydraulic modelling techniques to support Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Alleviation Schemes, and Drainage Strategies on various schemes. You will work with our current team of Flood Risk Engineers and Technicians to deliver projects that meet client requirements while providing technical support to others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validating and guiding on 1D/2D hydraulic modelling techniques for Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Alleviation Schemes, and Drainage Strategies.
  • Working with the current team of Flood Risk Engineers and Technicians to deliver projects that meet client requirements.
  • Providing technical support to colleagues.

Requirements
  • Degree in Geography, Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent with post-qualification experience.
  • Proven record delivering Flood Alleviation schemes, Flood Risk Assessments, and Drainage Strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of the regulatory system to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools, such as Autocad, QGIS, and Hydraulic Modelling software.
